1.   Project : Smart Suit – A wearable embedded body motion processing system

 

Scope of Work :

 

  Processing and interpretation of the wearable fiber optical sensor data into human anatomical movement and build the processing system into a wearable computing platform for sensing and control usage. He/she will be part of the team working on robotics/mechatronics projects for entertainment and human assistive technology.

 

Qualifications :

 

 

A Masters / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Biomedical Engineering or related discipline, with knowledge of a combination of at least two of the following areas: fiber optics, embedded system design, kinematics and human motion study.

3.   Project : Ambulatory & Examination of CVD Patients

 

Scope of Work :

 

1. Analyze multi-channel time serial signals from various body sensors; propose new approaches of feature extraction and pattern recognition; conduct testing on both healthy and pathologic subjects and evaluate experimental results.

 

2. Build system prototype that is used for ambulatory monitoring of daily life activities and cardio status; GUI design and database management for the system

 

Qualifications :

 

  Masters / Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering for the position of Research Assistant.

Hands-on C, JAVA and database programming, good at OpenGL, 2D or 3D animation, knowledgeable about signal processing, self-motivated and good team player.

5.   Project : Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) - RTOS and Power Efficient Protocol  Stack

Implementation of Real-time Operating System for small wireless sensor devices, Design and implementation of power efficient communication   protocol stack on sensor devices

 

Qualifications :

 

 

Undergraduate or Masters degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent, with specialization in Communications and/or Networking, especially wireless ad-hoc and sensor networks for the position of Research Assistant.

6.   Project : WBAN - Low Power IC Platform and Baseband

 

Scope of Work :

 

 

Low Power CMOS IC Design: You will be responsible for research and development in analog/mixed-signal/digital integrated circuits and subsystems for wireless body area network, wireless sensor network, and other low-voltage low-power bio-systems.

 

Qualifications :

 

 

A Bachelor's / Masters degree in Electrical/Electronics and/or Computer Engineering.

Possess at least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Analog/mixed signal IC and/or Digital IC design in CMOS/BiCMOS.

Knowledge and/or experience in using tools such as ADS, HSPICE and/or Synopsys tools etc.

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as well as in a team.

Fresh graduates with strong interest in IC design will also be considered.

7.   Project : WBAN - An Ultra Low-Power IC Chip for Wireless and Communications Applications

 

Scope of Work :

 

1. Define overall RF system specifications.

 

2. Perform RF system partitioning.

 

3. Design, develop, simulate, analyze, layout, and test a 2.4 GHz RF CMOS transceiver.

 

4. Optimize design for very low-power applications.

 

Qualifications :

 

  A Masters / Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. Possess at least 2 years of working experience in RF IC design. Familiar in using EDA tools such as ADS, Cadence etc. Self-motivated and good team player.

8.   Project : WBAN - Sensor Interface

 

Scope of Work :

 

  To design low power reconfigurable biosensor interface ICs for wireless body area network applications.

 

Qualifications :

 

  Candidates should have an M.Eng / Bachelor's degree in EE with experience in low power low voltage analog/mixed-signal/clockless digital IC design, be familiar with Cadence or Synopsys design tools, hands-on experience in hardware design and test.

9.   Project : WBAN - Middleware

 

Scope of Work :

 

1. To work with other team members to get clear application requirements. To construct highly re-usable software components on the body sensor network platform to provide context information (based on original sensor data stream) for various personal healthcare applications – from concept to realization.

 

2. To assist building a wireless body sensor network platform for personal healthcare applications. Responsible for:

 

  a. Wireless sensor node programming and debugging

 

  b. Pocket PC programming and debugging

 

  c. Both laboratory and field testing of the platform

 

Qualifications :

 

  Masters / Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science/ Engineering.

Hands-on C and JAVA programming; knowledgeable about hardware and real-time OS’ experience with database design and management; having experience on Pocket PC (Window CE) programming is a plus, self- motivated and good team player.

10.   Project : Model Predictive Control (MPC) on a Chip

 

Scope of Work :

 

1. To investigate issues related to mapping the MPC algorithm to re-configurable computing platform  (e.g. FPGA).

 

2. To develop a toolbox to bring MPC closer to the embedded system community

 

Qualifications :

 

  Degree in EE, or Computer Engineering. Relevant experience in Control, Signal Processing, Digital System Design, and Reconfigurable Computing would be a plus.

Scope of Work :

 

  To develop an integrated ECG device for wireless body area network applications

 

Qualifications :

 

 

Candidates should have an M.Eng / Bachelor's degree with background in ECG signal processing, especially in motion artifact reduction and ECG signal compression. Experience in hardware implementation of signal processing algorithm is preferable.
