Wireless Body Area Network – ECG Sensor, PI: A/P Lian Yong, NUS
Biomedical devices, Bioengineering, and communication technologies are converging to revolutionize home- and self-care health systems, making it possible for people to play a greater role in maintaining their own health. The recent introduction wireless body sensor network has made a great impact on healthcare. Such a system not only provides health monitoring to hospital patients but also keeps chronically ill patients from worsening at home. This project is aimed to develop an Electrocardiogram (ECG) sensor under the ESH II core technologies. Although there are many portable ECG devices in the market, there is no system-on-chip solution available now. The system-on-chip will greatly lower the cost of such a device and make the wearable ECG sensor available to needing patients and aging population.
This project will focus on the development of ECG-on-Chip for wireless body area network. The main tasks are:
